Introduction to Neuroscience and Nervous system
● Neuroscience; Neuroanatomy, Neurophysiology, and Systems Neurobiology Introduction to the structure and function of the nervous system: Cellular components: Neurons; Neuroglia; Neuron doctrine; 
● Functional architecture of a neuron, 
● Origin and propagation of nerve impulse,

Cellular, Molecular Neurobiology and Neurotransmitters 14 Hrs 
● Molecular and cellular approaches used to study the CNS 
● Synapse:  Types of synapses; synaptic function; 
● Principles of chemical synaptic transmission;
● Different types of neurotransmitters– catecholamines, amino acidergic and peptidergic neurotransmitters;
● Transmitter gated channels; G-protein coupled receptors and effectors, neurotransmitter receptors; Ionotropic and metabotropic receptors.

Neurobiology and Neuropharmacology of Behaviour 14 Hrs 
● Information processing in the vertebrate central nervous system, 
● Relationship of functional properties of neural systems with perception and behavior
● Sensory systems, molecular basis of behavior including learning and memory.  
● Molecular pathogenesis of pain and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, psychological disorders, addiction, etc.
